How I Got Here
When my family and I bought our new house over 10 years ago, I was beyond excited. This was my chance to finally create the cozy, beautiful home I had always dreamt of. I promised myself I wouldn’t repeat the mistake from our last home, where decorating got pushed to the back burner so long that it never happened.
But reality hit fast. As we unpacked and settled in, our home didn’t look like the Pinterest photos I had saved or the stunning model homes I’d visited. Instead, it felt like… just a house—no style, no personality—definitely not the cozy, welcoming space I had envisioned. If you’ve ever been there, I totally get it.
I felt lost, overwhelmed, and constantly second-guessing myself because I didn’t know where to start. The walls stayed bare for months—actually, years—and I was so tired of wasting money on impulse buys that never seemed to fit. But I wasn’t ready to give up. I had to figure this out.
I started reading, learning, and trying everything I could to transform our house into a home I loved. The problem? There was plenty of theory, but no practical, step-by-step guidance. I was stuck in a maze of endless options, unsure of what to do next.
That’s when I realized my knack for simplifying overwhelming processes. I broke down everything I had learned about decorating into easy steps and—after some trial and error—finally created a home that made my heart sing.
Why I Do What I Do
As I began sharing my process as a home decor blogger, I noticed something: busy women like you don’t just want tips; you want someone to tell you exactly what to do to make your dream home a reality. I call my home decor style Casual Luxury—a blend of timeless traditional, cozy transitional, and elegant touches of French country. I love working with high-quality, detailed pieces that feel refined but still approachable—perfect for creating a polished, sophisticated look without sacrificing comfort.
